Intravenous (IV) Certification

Service Description

IV therapy is a required and necessary skill set for numerous healthcare providers. This course is only for healthcare providers. This course is not for the general public. The purpose of this course is to train nurses, nursing students, and those who insert, maintain, and discontinue IVs in their scope of practice. Having completed the IV cannulation workshop you will be able to: -Describe the basic anatomy and physiology including identifying -the superficial veins in the arms and hands relevant to peripheral IV -Locate and assemble the required equipment for IV cannulation. -Perform a successful IV cannulation within the Infection Control -guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety practices of your -Complete the required legally defensible documentation related to -the procedure and management of IV therapy. -Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning relevant to managing -the risks and complications of IV cannulation and therapy. -Identify patient education requirements relevant to IV therapy.
